Circumstances and official response

According to local news coverage, Papu was discovered in her rented apartment in the village of Adoor. Doctors at a nearby hospital pronounced her dead after her body was brought in by neighbours. Authorities have recorded the death as unnatural and an investigation is under way.

Her family told local media that Papu had divorced her husband one month prior to her death and had recently moved to a rented house with her four‑year‑old son.

Family comments, surviving relatives and tributes

Speaking to Onmanorama, Papu’s father said she had become “distressed” following the split but had made a “conscious effort not to show it outwardly”, and that “she would keep everything to herself and rarely shared her problems with us.” Papu is survived by her young son, an older and a younger brother, and her parents.
